About Carcar City
Carcar is a component city of Cebu, about 40 km south of Cebu City on the south road. It is known for its 1800s church and ancestral houses, its lechon and chicharon, and a shoe trade that once earned it the name Shoe Capital of Cebu. It became a city under Republic Act 9436 in 2007, and Republic Act 11644 declared it a heritage zone in 2022.
